This article is more than 7 years old.

Bryce Harper has signed a multi-year extension with Under Armour reportedly 10 years in length and the largest endorsement deal in history for a baseball playerThe news follows a recent announcement from Under Armour about the "Harper One," the brand's first signature baseball cleat, which was developed in partnership with Harper.

“Bryce embodies our brand’s founding philosophy of ‘Aggressive, Young and Fearless,’ and we look forward to continuing to aid in his upward progression in the sport of baseball,” said Peter Murray, VP of Global Sports Marketing at Under Armour. “We admire his heart for the game, and are proud of what he’s accomplished in the five years since he first teamed up with us at Under Armour. He has a bright future ahead and we’re really thrilled to be a part of his team on this journey.”

Harper signed with Under Armour early on in his Major League Baseball career, which I'm sure the brand is patting itself on the back for now. After being the first overall pick in the 2010 MLB draft, Harper went on to win the Golden Spikes' Award that same year. Just two years later, he took home National League Rookie of the Year honors and was the youngest position player to ever be selected for the MLB All-Star Game.

Harper shared his excitement to extend his partnership with Under Armour on his Instagram account.

The first color way for the "Harper One" cleat will be available on July 15 at UA.com, Dick's Sporting Goods and Eastbay.

Under Armour says the extension means Harper will continue to have a central role in the brand's marketing campaigns, including training and lifestyle offerings and its Connected Fitness platforms.
