Harman International Industries Inc Bottom Line Advances 16% In Q1

Harman International Industries Inc (HAR) revealed a profit for its first quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $107 million, or $1.48 per share. This was higher than $92 million, or $1.31 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.40 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 14.0% to $1.63 billion. This was up from $1.43 billion last year.
