A HOTEL owner slammed an unhappy customer who dubbed him the real life Basil Fawlty by raging: "You shouldn't be let out alone!"
John Humberstone blasted back after the guest left a 1,000-word rant about his seaside hotel on TripAdvisor.
The furious critic, of Warrington, Cheshire, wrote: "Welcome to hell. I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy.”
DaveyW500 went on to say the owner of the Grand Ash hotel in Llandudno, north Wales, had "less warmth than Basil Fawlty himself", claiming he would have preferred to "have slept on the beach".
The disgruntled customer complained the TV in his room was virtually the size of a small bottle of water and claims he was barred from the lounge.
But no-nonsense John hit back in spectacular style.

He wrote: "You go on (and on) blaming everything and everybody for your total lack of logical reasoning, the music and singing from the hotel next door gets the Simon Cowell treatment from you and even the poor old seagulls get it in the neck for making bird noises.
"You had no right to go charging into a closed area of the hotel, supposing one of my staff was changing in there, I would have been able to complain how embarrassed they were then...”
He continued: “Which brings me more or less to the conclusion which is frankly people like you really shouldn’t be let out on their own, you’ve clearly got issues with humanity by the looks of it.
"You seem to watch far too much TV, that evidently when your not staring at the wallpaper, you’ve obviously got a lot of time on your hands, you must have to write this nonsense on Tripeadvisor (sic) and if we never saw you again it wouldn’t be any great loss."
The hotel - rated three out of five on TripAdvisor, is ranked 59th out of 60 hotels in Llandudno.
It is currently on sale for £495,000.
