Former Flint planning director lands new job in Salinas, California

MI -- The city's former director of planning and development has been named the new director of economic development in Salinas, Calif., according to a published report.

The Californian reported that Megan Hunter will begin work in Salinas on Sept. 8, earning $151,000 annually.

Hunter left Flint in August, resigning her position after two years on the job as planning director.

She was credited with having led the effort to create Flint's first comprehensive master plan in 50 years.

The Californian reported that Hunter was also involved in projects in Flint including a new $600-million General Motors paint facility, the redevelopment of the former Chevy in the Hole site, and the opening of American SpiralWeld Pipe on the old Buick City site.
