HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has submitted an application to open a store near Carolina Forest. The application was submitted June 4.

Plans for the Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based doughnut and coffeehouse chain are located at 101 Rodeo Drive, at the former Myrtle Beach Vistor Center, said David Schwerd, Horry County principal planner.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has also submitted its site plan, which will be discussed among the Horry County Zoning Board. The meeting is scheduled July 7.

If the plan is approved, the next step will be for the global doughnut company to submit its building plan.

Then, it typically takes about three months for a business to open, said Schwerd.
