SAN RAMON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Accela, the leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement solutions, today kicked off its annual Accela Engage conference, the largest ever in the event's history. Held at JW Marriott L.A. LIVE, August 24-28, Accela Engage 2015 brings together more than 800 government officials, company representatives, and industry thought leaders to celebrate a banner year in civic technology.

The five-day event is designed to help Accela's government agency customers get maximum value out of their investment in the Accela Civic Platform and participate in discussions with other industry leaders on best practices and solutions to unique challenges faced by state and local municipalities. Accela Engage features hands-on training, product demonstrations from both Accela and its extensive partner network, and presentations showcasing innovative government technology practices.

Anchored by a keynote address from Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO, this year's conference will demonstrate how the Accela Civic Platform empowers local governments to foster greater efficiency and better serve their respective communities. Other conference speakers will address the advancements and challenges in helping government entities better engage with citizens, streamline operations and modernize processes. Featured speakers include Jennifer Anastasoff, founding member of the United States Digital Service, and Lilian Coral, Deputy Chief Data Officer for the City of Los Angeles.

In her role at the U.S. Digital Service, Anastasoff is committed to bringing together talent, innovation and social change to the federal government, and works to improve and simplify the digital experience that people and businesses have with their government. As Deputy Chief Data Officer for Los Angeles, Coral helps lead the City's efforts to build an open and data-driven LA, bringing more than 10 years of experience as a strategic and driven Public Policy and Management leader in the area of health and human services policy, service delivery systems and technology.

This year's user conference caps off a stretch of unprecedented growth in civic technology, which IDC Government Insights projected to total $6.4 billion in spending in 2015. Accela has mirrored this momentum with a steady cadence of partnerships and strategic investments that has strengthened its leading market position with government agencies of all sizes around the world.

"From benchmark funding to phenomenal business and customer growth, we're celebrating a big year with the largest Engage gathering to date," Blackman said. "Every year, I'm blown away by the enthusiasm and support we receive around our user conference, and this year is no exception. There is an undeniable passion around the products and people committed to bettering government, and we are proud to be hosting this event to further connect the civic tech community."
