Vicon Industries has introduced its V920D Roughneck series of rugged indoor and outdoor network dome cameras.

Network video management speciaist Vicon Industries has introduced its V920D series of rugged indoor and outdoor network dome cameras, with a choice of standard definition, 720p and 1080p resolutions.

The open-platform cameras represent the latest generation of the company's Roughneck domes, offering ONVIF compatibility, higher resolutions and a lower price than previously available models. Like all Roughnecks, they are designed for harsh environments; the new domes are IP 66 rated and have an IK 10 impact protection rating.

According to the company, the V920D high-performance cameras transmit H.264 high-profile, MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compressed video with dual or triple streaming. Features include motion detection, privacy masking, 2-way audio and an SD card slot for on-camera storage. IR illuminators and motorized zoom and focus are optional. A wide selection of mounting options is available. The cameras are powered by PoE, 24 VAC or 12 VDC.

“Roughneck domes have been a favorite of Vicon customers for many years, and with the introduction of these new, open-platform models, we expect their popularity to grow among a broader base of users, including those who use third-party VMS software,” comments Margie Gurwin, Vicon’s director of marketing.
