Williams-Sonoma Inc., the seller of cookware and home furnishings, declined 7.7 percent in New York trading after forecasting third-quarter profit that fell short of analysts’ estimates.

The San Francisco-based company predicted earnings of 68 cents to 73 cents a share. Analysts had estimated 75 cents on average, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Revenue will be $1.19 billion to $1.22 billion in the period, Williams-Sonoma said. Analysts had projected a figure at the high end of that range.
