City National Q2 Profit Rises

Banking company City National Corp (CYN) Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $68.5 million or $1.13 per share, up from $65.5 million or $1.09 per share last year.

Net interest income for the quarter rose 9 percent to $245.8 million from last year, while non-interest income rose 12 percent to $112.9 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $1.08 per share on revenues of $339.04 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
