There was a lot of excitement throughout the game for Cats fans on State Street but the end of the game was a huge letdown.

"We still love our boys but we don't like UNC," one fan said.

It's not the outcome fans were hoping for.

"We're probably going to cry a little," Grace Gustitus said.

"By the end of the game people told me I wasn't allowed to watch the game because I'm bad luck so I didn't hear the exact end of it," Brenna Walsh said.

WKYT asked fans when they started to get worried.

Tucker Eonlon said, "About three minutes to go Malik wasn't hot."

But even a loss can't stop these fans from celebrating making it this far.

Paige Hansen said, "We're still a student body and we're still one as a community of BBN and even though we lost we still love the Cats."

State Street is notorious for celebrations. It didn't take long for crowds to get a little rowdy.

Police were ready for it, though, bringing in dozens of officers to make sure fans kept it safe on both State Street and Limestone. Lexington police didn't make any arrests this year.

With this year's March Madness run over for the Cats, fans look forward to next year.

Gustitus said, "How could we not win next year? We have a lot of talent. They're young but they're growing. I definitely believe in them."
