Hornets' preseason will include China trip

The Charlotte Hornets' eight-game preseason schedule for 2015-16 will include a pair of games played as part of NBA Global Games China, the team announced Friday.

The Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers will play on Sunday, Oct. 11 in the first NBA appearance ever in the Chinese city of Shenzhen. The teams will meet again on Wednesday, Oct. 14 in Shanghai.

Charlotte will open preseason play with visits to the league's two Florida teams during the first weekend of October. After the trip to China, the Hornets will play their only two home preseason games, hosting the New York Knicks (Saturday, Oct. 17) and the Chicago Bulls (Monday, Oct. 19). They'll close out exhibition play with road games against the Detroit Pistons (Wednesday, Oct. 21) and Indiana Pacers (Thursday, Oct. 22 in Fort Wayne, Ind).

The Hornets will begin regular-season play on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Miami.
