The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem's Summer Soiree Raises More Than $220,000

Supporting the Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation at NorthShore University HealthSystem

Chicago’s Morgan Manufacturing was the sleek downtown location for The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem’s (NorthShore) first ever Summer Soirée, which is the exciting new twist on NorthShore’s annual Hospitals’ Gala. The Auxiliary of NorthShore hosted 575 business, healthcare and civic leaders from the North Shore and greater Chicagoland area for the premiere event, which took place on Saturday evening, June 13.

Guests of the Soirée were mingling all evening at this cocktail-style affair, enjoying high-energy live entertainment including an exclusive Howl at The Moon dueling pianos performance, sipping cocktails offered by Redmoon Theater servers riding a 5-foot tall wine bike, dancing to the sounds of the New Groove Band, and many other exciting entertainment elements from Hype Productions. A tantalizing array of food stations made for a unique dining experience. Following dinner, guests indulged in a wide assortment of customized sweets, while bidding on live and silent auction items including the Ultimate Chicago Sports Package which featured tickets and memorabilia from The Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears and Bulls, and a Luxury Vacation to Punta de Mita Mexico.

Soirée guests were also able to see and interact with pieces of equipment and software from the Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation (GCSI), which provided attendees with an up-close and personal experience showcasing how their Summer Soirée ticket and contributions make a direct impact at NorthShore. GCSI staff were thrilled to demonstrate how the equipment and software are used and how they help patients on a daily basis by ensuring that clinicians are trained on the most up-to-the minute resources and technology.

Thanks to the guests in attendance and the evening’s generous sponsors, including Aramark and Power Construction, this year’s Summer Soirée raised more than $220,000. All proceeds from the Soirée support GCSI, a state-of-the-art facility at NorthShore Evanston Hospital that provides healthcare professionals with courses and hands-on training in leading-edge medical and surgical disciplines. Funds raised also support GCSI’s training initiatives, which improve communication between the patient and the healthcare team. With the Soirée’s support, these vital initiatives will translate to improved outcomes and a superior patient experience at NorthShore.
