Isilon, Bucyrus Blast Higher On Takeovers

Caterpillar said today it has agreed to buy Bucyrus in an $8.6 billion transaction, including debt. Bucyrus shareholders will receive $92 per share in cash, a 32% premium to Bucyrus' closing price Friday for a total of $7.6 billion in cash. Shares are higher by 29 percent.

EMC agreed to purchase Isilon Systems for $2.25 billion, pushing it deeper into the $19 billion external-storage market. EMC expects to generate $1 billion in annual sales from the purchase by the second half of 2012. Shares are higher by 28.5 percent.

Telestone Technologies shares are higher following the announcement of Q3 financial results.

The networking infrastructure equipment maker to the China market reported revenue of $43.1 million and profits of $1.14 a share beating analyst estimates. The company also reaffirmed 2010 guidance for revenue of $129.4 million and profit of $2.17 a share.

The stock is higher by 25 percent.
