Meanwhile, high street giant Next will open a major new flagship store in Dublin before the end of this year.

A new four-storey shop at 7-9 Henry Street will be ready for shoppers by Christmas 2018, building owners Fitzwilliam Real Estate Capital say.

The new flagship plan means Next will leave their unit at the Jervis Shopping Centre.

Next has been trading at the shopping centre for over 20 years. Their new Henry Street store boasts space of 35,521 sq ft and will cost about €1.8 million in rent.

And Marks and Spencer has slashed prices by up to 24 per cent across 200 food lines in Irish stores.
