Inspired by the July 28 release of What Pet Should I Get?, Barnes & Noble is inviting kids of all ages to its stores nationwide on Tuesday, July 28, at 7pm for a special “What Pet Should We Get?” Storytime event. Participants will use their imaginations to help their local store decide what pet to get by creating unique Dr. Seuss-inspired pets for their local store. Plus, customers who buy What Pet Should I Get? will receive 50% off select Dr. Seuss stories, including The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Horton Hears a Who and The Lorax. This special offer is valid from Tuesday, July 28, through Friday, July 31, in stores only.
 
Customers are invited back to their local store for the “Dr. Seuss Spectacular” event on July 31 at 7pm, to enjoy the thrilling grand finale of Get Pop-Cultured 2015 with a variety of crafts and activities all inspired by Dr. Seuss’ clever and whimsical books that have had a profound influence on pop culture for more than 50 years.
 
Additionally, Barnes & Noble’s final Throwback Thursday on July 30 will celebrate the 1990s, including Dr. Seuss’ influence on that decade. Other highlights will include exciting, 1990s-themed activities, including a Goosebumps Monster Mashup Activity based on the frighteningly fun children’s series by author R. L. Stine that was iconic to the decade and remains incredibly popular today, and special deals of the decade including 50% off Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, 50% off the Barnes & Noble Exclusive edition of Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, featuring an original cover, and so much more.

In celebration of the release of the newly discovered What Pet Should I Get? by Dr. Seuss, Barnes & Noble is inviting customers to visit their local store to help decide what pet to get at a special Storytime event on Tuesday, July 28, at 7pm. What Pet Should I Get?, the never-before-seen picture book, tells the story of a brother and a sister who are faced with this very question, and is available starting July 28 at Barnes & Noble stores nationwide, online at BN.com and on NOOK.
 
At the “What Pet Should We Get?” Storytime, children will help Barnes & Noble stores nationwide make the difficult choice of what pet to get by using their vivid imaginations to create a one-of-a-kind Dr. Seuss-inspired pet for their local store.
 
The Dr. Seuss Spectacular will serve as the grand finale of Get Pop-Cultured, proving that “there is more fun to be done” before the month-long campaign comes to an end for its second year. Children and their parents/guardians are invited to visit their local store to enjoy a variety of crafts and activities all inspired by Dr. Seuss’ clever, whimsical books that have had a profound influence on pop culture. Throwback Thursday 1990s – Thursday, July 30
Barnes & Noble is inviting customers to its stores nationwide on July 30 for the final event in the extremely popular Throwback Thursday series to celebrate the most iconic moments in pop culture from the 1990s. The celebration will feature fun, themed activities based on the memorable decade, including a look at Dr. Seuss’ influence on that decade. Other highlights include a fantastic 1990s-style Goosebumps Monster Mashup Activity based on the frighteningly fun children’s series by author R. L. Stine that was iconic throughout the decade and remains incredibly popular today. The fun activity will involve participants deciding which of the monsters featured on select Goosebumps covers would win in a battle. To help the audience reach their decision, fun facts about each monster will be read aloud. Customers should contact their local Barnes & Noble for more details, and to find out what additional events will be taking place to celebrate the 1990s.
 
And, as always during Barnes & Noble’s exciting Throwback Thursday events, special deals from the decade will round out the excitement. Stores will have special offers on iconic content from the time period, including 50% off Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson and 50% off the Barnes & Noble Exclusive edition of Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel, featuring an original cover. Special poster giveaways throughout Throwback Thursday 1990s include Goosebumps book cover posters, a Harry Potter quote poster and a Speak book cover poster.
