Gold holdings in the IShares Gold Trust decreased 16,587 ounces to 5,387,663 ounces as of Sept. 23, according to figures on the company’s website.
Gold futures for December delivery fell $5.20, or 0.3 percent, to $1,736.50 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
