Tearjerking Video Shows Kids With Cancer Ringing ‘End-Of-Treatment’ Bell

Kids with cancer can spend weeks, months and even years undergoing chemotherapy. That’s why finishing chemo treatment is so amazing.

At the Aflac Cancer Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), there’s a special tradition to celebrate this milestone. Patients ring the “end-of-treatment bell” to signal that they’ve completed their chemo treatments. As the above video shows, this moment can be incredibly emotional.

“For kids enduring treatment, chemo means things like needle pricks, nausea, vomiting, a loss of strength and hair that falls out,” a CHOA representative told The Huffington Post. “To mark the closing of a difficult chapter in their lives, our courageous cancer warriors have the opportunity to ring the bell and celebrate this hard-fought milestone.”
