Woman went for bite of cereal, was stung by bee instead: suit

Honey Bunches of Oats

Honey Bunches of . . . Ouch!

A Manhattan woman crunched down on a spoonful of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal — and bit into a bee, she claims in a new lawsuit.

Michelle Vierra-Foggie, 51, of East Harlem, says she got the breakfast buzzkill on June 21, 2013.

The bee was either alive or still had its stinger intact, because Vierra-Foggie “became sick, sore . . . and suffered physical and mental pain [and] nervous shock,” according to the Manhattan Supreme Court suit, which stings the cereal as “dangerous, defective, unfit and unsafe for use.”

Vierra-Foggie is suing Post Foods, which makes the cereal, and Rite Aid, where she says she purchased it, for unspecified damages.

A spokeswoman for Rite Aid said the company does not comment on pending litigation. Calls and emails to Post Foods were not returned.
