Michigan State was named the AutoNation National Team of the Week on Monday on the heels of its 17-14 win at Ohio State on Saturday.
The award, presented by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), noted that it was MSU's second consecutive win at Ohio State, dating back to a 10-7 win over the Buckeyes in 2011.
The Spartans also snapped an NCAA record 30-game regular-season win streak by Ohio State.
"Last February when we started winter conditioning we talked about reaching higher," said MSU coach Mark Dantonio, who's 2-2 against Ohio State since Urban Meyer became the Buckeyes' head coach.
"One of the ways we needed to reach higher was to come in here and win. We focused on this moment, and we played hard.
AutoNation will donate $1,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in Michigan State University's name.
