Curtiss-Wright supplying Navy with submarine components

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 16 (UPI) -- Curtiss-Wright Corporation is supplying pumps, valves, generators and propulsors for 10 future Block IV Virginia-class U.S. Navy submarines.

The equipment is being supplied for two submarines per year under a number of U.S. Navy contracts. So far, more than $330 million of funding has been allotted to these contracts, with the remaining funding to be provided incrementally.

The contracts' total value will be worth more than $480 million, Curtiss-Wright said.

Curtiss-Wright said its Electro-Mechanical Systems Division's facilities in Pennsylvania and an Industrial Division facility in New York are performing the work under these contracts.
