DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. Profit Drops 9% In Q3

DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (DVA) announced earnings for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $197 million, or $0.95 per share. This was lower than $216 million, or $1.00 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.93 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 5.7% to $3.73 billion. This was up from $3.53 billion last year.
