'American Idol' Season 15 News: Trent Harmon Performs Alone in Group Rounds

Trent Harmon made history in the farewell season of "American Idol" season 15 when he performed another solo in the competition's dreaded Group rounds.

Although Trent managed to escape the drama of joining a group, rehearsing with other singers, and dealing with multiple personalities, practicing on his own was still not an easy task. Before the end of Wednesday's episode, it was revealed that the singer was suffering from mono. He's contagious, so "American Idol" producers allowed him to perform solo, which is the first time it ever happened on the show.

Bustle said that watching Trent practice by himself was sad, however, it is still an advantage on his part since he can only focus on himself. The 25-year-old singer's hard work paid off, since the website called his performance "probably the best of the night." The website said that his vocals are off the chart, which made everybody had their eyes only on him. Not surprisingly, Trent made it through to the final solo round in Hollywood.

According to AmericanIdol.net, the other groups that made it through were "Blue Eyes," with Jordan Sasser, Jenna Renae, Kelsie Wats, and Kory Wheeler in it; "Milk & Cookies," which is composed of Bri Ray, Jenn Blosil, Lynnzee Fraye, and Sara Sturm; and "Ooo Times Two," with Amelia Eisenhauer, Lee Jean, and Tristan McIntosh. Colette Lush and Avalon Young's group, as well as Jeneve Mitchell's group, also made it through the next round.

Some of the memorable faces that were eliminated were Lindsey Carrier, Elvie Shane, Ashley Lilinoe, Cameron Richard, Daniel Farmer, Lindita, Eliz Camacho, Joe Dahman, Alesana Tolai, and Olivia Thai.

The biggest surprise of the night was when Miranda "Poh" Scott, whose sister is season 14's Shi Scott, left her group, and the competition. Her teammates, Dalton Rapattoni and Kassy Levels, were left short of a member, but luckily, they found Anatalia Villaranda to complete their group, "Chicken Noodle Soup." The three did well, and made it through.

There is still the final solo performance before Hollywood Week is over, and the contestants will be cut down to 51. From the 51 that are left, only 24 will go through the Live shows. For those who can't wait to see who made it, the rumored Top 24 singers was also posted on AmericanIdol.net.

Watch "American Idol" every Wednesday and Thursday on Fox.
