First, Fox News anchors attributed the melee in Ferguson to Jay Z and Beyonce funding bail for protesters. Back for the Carters again, another Fox News anchor is accusing the superstar couple and the entire #BlackLivesMatter movement of spreading anarchy throughout the United States.
Fox’s Bill O’Reilly expressed his views on The O’Reilly Factor. He said, “I don’t know whether this crew, #BlackLivesMatter, have a contingency other than the radical left, the fringe nuts that run around the country saying crazy things.”

The death of Trayvon Martin in 2012 started a conversation about the value of black lives in the country. The #BlackLivesMatter movement swept the nation, ringing in those who found fault in the nation’s social and political systems. Activists and social justice groups hopped on board, lead by several organizations. And supporters like international financier George Soros and The Carters donated millions to help the cause. Along with the wave of support came criticism, like that of The O’Reilly Factor host.
O’Reilly doubts the legitimacy of the movement. He called all involved, “agitators who are organized to disrupt” and want to “tear down the country.” He questions why Jay Z and Beyonce are a part of it, and invited them to his show to explain.

The latest segment of The O’Reilly Factor is a slice of the opposition #BlackLivesMatter have faced from Fox News. Anchor Geraldo Rivera went after hip-hop and Kendrick Lamar’s performance of “Alright” at the BET Awards. O’Reilly and Megyn Kelly reprimanded Baltimore City State Attorney Marilyn Mosby–who charged police for Freddie Gray’s death–for attending a rally held by Prince. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Steve Doocy, and Brian Kilmeade of Fox & Friends criticized Jay Z and Beyonce when they first financially supported the movement. We can just hear the Queen Bey telling Hov now, “Baby I swear it’s deja vu.”
