Dozens of satellite licenses owned by Time Warner Inc. may expose its proposed acquisition by AT&T Inc. to even deeper scrutiny by U.S. regulators than was initially expected.
Time Warner owns two dozen or more licenses for sending programming signals to and from satellites, in addition to a station license for WPCH-TV in Atlanta. Transferring those licenses would require approval by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, which can effectively kill a deal simply by requiring a lengthy hearing.
