Gant by Gant: New Men's Scent

Famed shirtmaker and clothing company Gant (fragrance line belongs to Elizabeth Arden) will launch a new men’s fragrance, also called Gant, on November 1. It is the first fragrance to be developed and distributed in-house by the Swedish sportswear brand.

The new Gant fragrance was created by Pierre Wulff and Jerome Epinette of Robertet SA, the Grasse, France-based aromatics supplier. In keeping with Gant's New England roots and the outdoorsy spirit of its clothing lines, the scent was designed to convey the fresh and airy sense of the ocean, melded with dark woods and the tar smells of nineteenth century clipper ships.

Top notes: Calabrian lemon, coriander and Madagascar cinnamon bark
Heart Notes: Provence lavender, White Virginian cedar, marine accords
Base notes: suede, Australian sandalwood, North African cypress and black amber
The bottle was created by famed glasswear designer Pierre Dinand, and features a deep blue glass etched with a basket-weave motif reminiscent of the wicker baskets used by cargo ships in past centuries, topped with a bakelite cap. The fragrance will be available in Gant stores around the world, including the four U.S. locations. The scent can be purchased in a 50 ml bottle for $65 and 100 ml for $89.50.
