Melania Trump is preparing for her first state dinner as First Lady and will host President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte tonight. The Macrons hosted the Trumps last July for Bastille Day ceremonies and yesterday evening the Trumps returned the hospitality, meeting the French leader and his wife at the White House before departing for a pre-State Dinner at Mount Vernon, George Washington's Virginia home. For the occasion, Mrs. Trump donned a little black dress and Givenchy tuxedo cape, while Madame Macron stuck with her preferred label Louis Vuitton.

Mrs. Trump offset her black-tie cape with a simple sheath from Dolce & Gabbana (a favorite label of the First Lady) and wore a Ralph Lauren belt and Christian Louboutin stilettos to round out the ensemble. Mrs. Macron opted for a more spring-like look with shades of yellow. The coordinating coat and dress combo recalled the styles favored by Jackie Kennedy, while a circular handbag was a directional touch.
