On Oct. 9, Republic Services of Tyngsboro presented a check to the Education Foundation of Tyngsboro (EFT) as a Bronze Level sponsor for the Tyngsboro Trot 5K Walk/Run for Education.

Pictured are Bob Wood, Terry Grady, municipal service manager, Rose Mitchell from EFT, and Chris Peters, general manager of Republic Services in Tyngsboro.

The Tyngsboro Trot is the EFT’s biggest fundraiser, and all funds raised go directly into Education Grants for the Tyngsboro Public Schools. To date, the EFT has awarded $120,000 in education grants to purchase equipment such as iPads, Smartboards, Netbooks, and has contributed to projects such as the library revival in the Tyngsboro Elementary School. Republic Services joins other generous community donors such as DCU, Enterprise Bank, Tyngsboro Sports Center and Pfizer to help the EFT achieve its mission. The Tyngsboro Trot 5K Walk/Run for Education will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 10:30 a.m., at the Tyngsboro Elementary School. This event is partnered with the Tyngsboro Scholarship Trust’s Holiday Marketplace, also held on Nov. 1 at the Tyngsboro Elementary School, which features crafters, local merchants, vendors, food, raffles and a Beautiful Baby contest. Funds raised at the Holiday Marketplace will go directly to scholarships for the Tyngsboro Class of 2016. Join the hundreds of runners, walkers and shoppers on Nov. 1 at the Tyngsboro Trot and Holiday Marketplace. For information, contact mitchell6260@msn.com.
