BOCA RATON, FL--(Marketwired - Mar 2, 2015) - Airspan Networks Inc., the leading provider of LTE small cells and small cell backhaul solutions, announced today that it will demonstrate an innovative, rapidly deployable, indoor LTE small cell that uses LTE Relay technology with a Tier 1 Carrier at Mobile World Congress 2015. This unique solution leverages Airspan's class-leading AirVelocity LTE small cell with an integrated LTE UE to provide an intelligent way to augment the capacity and coverage of an existing LTE Macro RAN.

This live demonstration, powered by a Tier 1 LTE network, showcases Airspan's plug-and-play LTE Small Cell functionality enabling the intelligent deployment of indoor LTE small cells to places in a network were they provide both capacity and coverage benefits, without the need for any dedicated backhaul. The product utilizes a unique implementation of LTE Relay, which is interoperable with a carrier's existing multi-vendor LTE RAN and EPCs.

Airspan's Velocity Relay solution can be used for a range of use cases:

Extended LTE indoor coverage that improves Macro cell capacity, providing vehicle based mobile LTE
A next generation self-backhauling indoor femto cell

AirVelocity Relay does not require LTE small cell planning, design, or professional installation. Intelligently controlling the spectrum resources of both the LTE Macro and small cell eNB ensures optimal use of available spectrum and the elimination of interference.
