Since 1992, the Twitty Triplets have offered up "melodic tunes from a professional act in a casual atmosphere" and they will once again bring their unique comedy cabaret act back to Columbia for a three-night event sponsored by Trustus Theatre. As a follow up to their 20th anniversary show in 2012, "Still Twitty After All These Years" finds the singing trio imprisoned due to an "unfortunate evening gown shoplifting incident at Big Lots." As part of their early release from jail, the triplets (Aynor, Monetta and Cayce) are performing a community service concert when they are confronted by a mysterious woman from their past-original triplet Swansea Twitty. Will Aynor and Monetta ever forgive their biological sister for abandoning the family act? Will surrogate triplet Cayce be forced to leave her adopted family? And what brings Swansea Twitty back to town after so many years? You won't believe your eyes ... or ears.

With medleys of some of the worst songs in the history of pop music and more than a dose of southern family comic angst, "Still Twitty After All These Years" was written by Robbie Robertson and is being directed by outgoing Trustus Theatre Executive Director Larry Hembree. The comedy stars Len Marini, Leigh Stevenson, Libby Campbell, Joe Hudson and Gail Brown, all sharing the stage with the long awaited return of one of Columbia's most revered actresses in the starring role of Swansea Twitty.

The show will be performed August 17 -19 at Pearlz Upstairz, 936 Gervais Street, located on the second floor above Pearlz Oyster Bar in the Vista. The house bar will open nightly at 6 pm with the show beginning at 8 pm. Tickets are $25 for general seating. To purchase tickets, call the Trustus Box Office at 254-9732 (Tuesday through Saturday, 1 pm to 6 pm) or by reserving online at www.trustus.org.
