Cabela's in West Chester officially opened its doors to the public Wednesday morning.The store estimates between 4000-5000 people lined up for the grand opening. Some even camped out.Grand opening celebrations included gift card giveaways, food and music.Employee Dan Stapleton entertained the crowd by shooting a bow and arrow to cut the ribbon."I was practicing a lot so I was really confident," Stapleton said. "I get one shot to open the door and one shot to make a first impression on a customer."Cabela's founder Mary Cabela came from Nebraska for the event.She said when she's not hunting, she tries to make it to grand openings."It's just awesome, I mean it's just awesome. We have all these wonderful outfitters and that's why Cabela works," Cabela said.The West Chester Cabela's is the first one in Greater Cincinnati and the second in Ohio.Another store will open in Dayton next year.
