Experience

Richard Suttmeier considers himself a financial engineer, using simple tools of technical analysis and proprietary analytics to provide price levels at which to buy a ticker on weakness and to sell a ticker on strength.

Richard is also an expert on Fed policy, the banking system, and the housing market. He understands how to read the FDIC Quarterly Banking Profile. He correctly predicted the housing price bubble in 2006 and the waves of bank failures that led to the crash of 2008. Market timing is a skill that enabled Richard to make significant market calls, including the pop of the tech bubble in March 2000, the stock market bottom in the second half of 2002, the crash of 2008, and the stock market bottom on March 9, 2009.

Over the years Richard frequently appeared on financial TV. On many holidays he appeared for an hour covering stocks on a call-in/email-the-expert "Talking Stocks" show on CNNfn. In 2002 he had his own show on Yahoo Finance TV called, "Traders’ Club with Richard Suttmeier." He was president of the Society for the Investigation of Recurring Events in NYC from 2000 into 2009.

When Fox Business began in late 2007, he was a frequent guest on "Money for Breakfast." Richard also made appearances on Reuters TV, Yahoo Finance Breakout, and BNN in Toronto. He has also made presentations to various investor groups, such as MBA students at the University of Florida and South Florida, The American Association of Individual Investors, Wells Fargo Advisors, The Executive Form at the National Arts Club in NYC, Investors Roundtable of Wilmington NC, The Market Technicians Association, The Information Management Network when they cover Florida Banks in Fort Lauderdale, and the University of Tampa Investment Club.

Richard formed Global Market Consultants Ltd. at the end of 1988. An assignment worth mentioning is advising Market Vision with regard to features to include in their graphics, which are now used by MetaStock, the graphing service he uses today. Another assignment was authoring the Technology Report for TheStreet.com. He also provided content for ValuEngine.com. Richard is currently a freelance writer for Investopedia, Seeking Alpha, Forbes.com, and The Maven.

Education

Richard received his bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and earned his Master of Science in operations research systems analysis from New York University Tandon School of Engineering, previously known as Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute.

Quote from Richard Suttmeier

"Give me a ticker and I will provide an analysis 'on the fly.'"
