The Middleby Corp. acquires food processing equipment manufacturer

The Middleby Corp. has acquired the assets of Processing Equipment Solutions Inc., a manufacturer of equipment for the food processing industry based in Gainesville, Ga.

According to a news release, PES product offerings include the IntelliJet and MegaJet line of water cutting systems, meat presses and fillet systems. PES has annual revenues of approximately $15 million.

"The acquisition of PES highly complements our existing portfolio of technologies for the food processing industry. The MegaJet and IntelliJet line of water cutting systems are state of the art, providing a high volume, accurate and flexible solution to our food processing customers," said Middleby CEO Selim A. Bassoul said in the release. "We believe there are significant sales and manufacturing synergies with this transaction. Through existing Middleby's global sales and service infrastructure we will be able to introduce the line of PES products to new markets."
