Well, seems like his point is that if you bought $100 of Amazon stock bought in 1997 would be worth $125k today.

People who use dollar cost averaging? I have bought lots of stock over the years by buying multiple stocks by buying relatively small amounts every 2 to 4 weeks. But that really isn't the point of the OP anyway.
