The following are excerpts from the Burlington police log for July 21 through July 27. The log is public record and available for review. All persons are presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, July 21

12:28 a.m.: A caller reported two male parties had walked by his house on Lantern Lane and threw glass bottles onto his property at around 11:20 p.m.

2:59 p.m.: Lahey Security at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center on Mall Road reported a party making threats to a doctor.

5:46 p.m.: A walk in party reported placing his iPhone 6 on the roof of his vehicle on July 19 and then driving off. The report states after he checked the area on July 21, he was unable to locate his phone.

5:48 p.m.: A caller on Jackson Road reported he had secured a dog that was walking through his yard. The owner reportedly showed up at the house and took the dog.

7:10 p.m.: Mall security reported the theft of a mountain bike at Burlington Mall on Middlesex Turnpike. The bicycle was reportedly not locked when it was stolen outside the mall.

8:30 p.m.: A caller reported yelling coming from the area of the Minute Man Sportsman’s Club on Francis Wyman Road. The person was reportedly sent on their way.

8:59 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious white vehicle that pulled into a parking lot on Winn Street.

Wednesday, July 22

6:58 a.m.: A caller reported a mulch fire in the area of the Used Book Superstore on Cambridge Street. The fire departments reported extinguished the mulch fire.

9:11 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking lot at Northern Bank & Trust Co. on Center Street.

9:47 a.m.: A caller reported a loose white dog on Wilmington Road.

10:41 a.m.: A caller reported a stray white dog on September Lane.

12:09 p.m.: A CVS employee reported a customer causing a disturbance inside the store on Cambridge Street. The incident was reportedly resolved by CVS prior to officer arrival.

3:14 p.m.: A past theft was reported at the Bank of America ATM on Middlesex Turnpike.

9:59 p.m.: A caller reported receiving a threat from a male party and believed the male was in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts on Middlesex Turnpike Extension. The male party was reportedly verbally trespassed from the property.

11:04 p.m.: A staff member of Atria Longmeadow Place on Mall Road reported a male and female party had been walking around the parking lot and behind Citizens Bank.

Thursday, July 23

9:55 a.m.: A caller reported a storage container was vandalized at Reagan Park on Sumpter Road.

11:14 a.m.: A walk in party reported his wallet and phone were stolen at the Marriott Hotel on Mall Road.

1 p.m.: A walk in party was notified his credit card was used at the Burlington Mall on Middlesex Turnpike and was given a I.D. theft packet.

2:29 p.m.: A walk in party reported a case of identity theft.

4:04 p.m.: A caller on Locust Street reported her iPod was stolen July 22. The phone was reportedly located on Cambridge Street through GPS earlier in the morning.

4:10 p.m.: A caller on Maryvale Road reported they were missing a trash bin and a recycle bin. The same incident reportedly happened on June 1.

5:50 p.m.: A caller reported suspicious activity at Gamestop on Middlesex Turnpike.

8:04 p.m.: A caller reported a baby hawk walking on the side of Cambridge Street near Cafe Escadrille. The hawk reportedly appeared to be fine.

8:45 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious orange van parked on Peach Orchard Road with its lights on for a couple of hours. The vehicle left the area prior to police arrival, according to the report.

9:27 p.m.: A caller at Beacon Village Apartments on Beacon Street reported two missing children. The children were reportedly located.

10:10 p.m.: A loud party was reported at Veterans Park on Wilmington Road. The report states there was no one at the park when officers arrived.

11:09 p.m.: Security at Palomar Medical Technologies Inc. on Network Drive reported youths in the area.

Friday, July 24

2:41 a.m.: A caller reported possible suspicious activity in front of Hampden Avenue. According to the report, parties involved were advised of the noise.

7:09 a.m.: An alarm was reported in the health hallway of Burlington High School on Cambridge Street. The report states contractors were working on the gym and set the alarm off by accident.

7:37 a.m.: An alarm company reported a general alarm on Middlesex Turnpike. According to the report, mall security employees and technicians were working on the front doors.

10:13 a.m.: Operator P472 reported a front door and motion detector alarm on Wheeler Road. The report states no one locked the doors the previous evening, and there was no forced entry.

12:20 p.m.: A caller reported hitting a pothole and damaging front passenger tire at Old Towne Liquor Store on Cambridge Street. The report states the party involved was advised to go to Town Hall.

12:20 p.m.: Loss prevention reported having one shoplifter apprehended at Kohl’s Department Store on Lexington Street. The report states an adult male stopped by loss prevention for $25 in merchandise and will pay store fine.

5:27 p.m.: Callers reported four to five dirt bikes and ATVs in the park while kids were playing at Rahanis Park on Mill Street. The report states they were gone on arrival.

7:10 p.m.: A caller reported two black females acting suspiciously on Old Concord Road. The report states female parties were guests of the hospital and were not doing anything suspicious.

7:27 p.m.: An officer reported a truck attempting to load motor vehicle in the street at Herb Chambers Audi of Burlington on Cambridge Street. The report states the driver was advised to move truck off the street to load motor vehicle.

8:48 p.m.: A caller reported hearing five gun shots in the woods behind their home on Milwood Street. The report states the shots were unable to be located, and several residents reported them as fireworks.

9:31 p.m.: A motion alarm was reported at Pine Glen Elementary on Pine Glen Way. According to the report, the alarm was okay, and the responder reset it.

10:31 p.m.: A caller reported someone sleeping in the right field of a softball field at Marvin Field/Park on South Bedford Street. The report states they were watching the softball games and fell asleep.

Saturday, July 25

12:18 a.m.: A caller on Third Avenue reported finding a lost address book.

1:37 a.m.: Two female youths were observed walking on Winn Street. The female parties reportedly checked OK and were walking home to Keans Road.

1:44 a.m.: An officer reported youths at Wildmere Park on Wildmere Avenue. The youths were reportedly staying at a residence in the area and headed home.

2:14 a.m.: A disturbance was reported at Hilton Garden Inn on Wheeler Road. The party was reportedly escorted back to his room and advised to leave the staff alone.

7:10 a.m.: A burglar alarm was reported at EBI on B Street. Four parties were on the scene upon arrival and had access to the building and were unsure why the alarm went off, according to the report.

9:15 a.m.: An emergency exit burglar alarm was reported on Van de Graaff Drive.

10:19 a.m.: A resident on Harriett Avenue reported a stop sign was left on his property sometime overnight.

12:50 p.m.: A caller on Princeton Road reported he had found a dog named Ziggy with a Burlington dog I.D. The caller reported he would keep the dog in the yard.

1:09 p.m.: A caller reported dirtbikes in the area of Chandler Road.

2:09 p.m.: A caller reported he was punched in the face at Avalon Burlington on Arboretum Way and the suspect was still on the scene. Officers spoke with all involved parties and neither parties wasted to go forward with criminal charges on the scene, according to the report.

3:17 p.m.: A caller reported a past theft at Kohl’s on Lexington Street. The female left in a vehicle down Mall Road towards Lahey.

4:42 p.m.: A female reported getting in a verbal argument with her husband the night before at Extended Stay America on South Avenue. Her husband has reportedly walked away after the argument and she had not heard from him since and has returned home to New Jersey. The male party was reported to have left on foot before the female had booked the room and there were no signs of foul play at the hotel. Burlington Taxi confirmed pickup of the male party from AMC Theaters on South Avenue and transported the party to South Station, according to the report.

7:22 p.m.: A caller at Sun Microsystems Inc. on Network Drive reported geese in the road causing a traffic hazard. The report states the geese successfully crossed the road.

9:38 p.m.: A burglar alarm was reported at Coach on Middlesex Turnpike. Mall security reported the store checked secure.

9:50 p.m.: Alarm Central reported a front door alarm at D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches on Middlesex Turnpike. All doors were reportedly secure.

Sunday, July 26

12:21 a.m.: A burglar alarm was reported at Chateau Restaurant on Middlesex Turnpike. The report states that the cleaning company was on scene and the building was checked and secured.

12:49 a.m.: A caller at Prouty Road and Harvard Avenue reported a loud party in the area. According to the report, the owner said she would keep the noise down and everyone would come inside.

2:05 a.m.: A caller on Donald Road reported a middle-aged man dressed in black with a backpack was in her driveway between the cars when she got home. The male reportedly left the area, but the caller requested a check up.

2:28 a.m.: An officer reported a possible fight at Fox Hill Road and Hart Street between a group of youths. The report states all parties were sent on their way.

3:10 a.m.: A caller reported two males yelling at each other at the intersection of Beaverbrook Road and Cathy Road. An officer reportedly provided courtesy transport of one male to his residence.

9:16 a.m.: A walk in party reported her wallet was stolen the day before sometime between 10 a.m. and noon at Panera Bread on Cambridge Street. Her credit cards were used at numerous locations, according to the report.

9:28 a.m.: A caller reported she found a smallish brown and tan dog without a collar on the side of the road on Skilton Lane. The owner was reportedly located and the dog was returned to their owner.

9:45 a.m.: A caller on Maryvale Road reported a person calling for help in an unknown location The male party was reportedly in the woods, yelling for his pet dog Belle. The dog was from the previous call and was returned to her owner, according to the report.

1:43 p.m.: A caller reported she lost her driver’s license approximately three nights before at Hess on Cambridge Street.

2:24 p.m.: A male walk in party reported someone left a pink Savoy bike in his yard at Humboldt Avenue. The item was reportedly tagged and placed into evidence per department policy.

2:41 p.m.: A caller reported a white sport motorcycle speeding up and down Beacon Street.

3:28 p.m.: A walk in party reported someone had opened a credit card online in his name. According to the report, he did not lose his credit card, but he believed someone had access to his social security number. Same was given an identify theft packet.

4:08 p.m.: A caller reported losing her wallet while shopping at Wegman’s on Third Avenue.

4:26 p.m.: A residential burglar alarm was reported on Forbes Avenue. The building reportedly checked OK.

4:35 p.m.: A caller reported solar solicitors were at her house on College Road on July 25. She reportedly received a copy of a contract that had her signature on it, but she stated she had not signed it.

4:55 p.m.: Wegmans on Third Avenue reported four youths stole alcohol and they had two of the youths in the office. One male suspect shoplifted two bottles of liquor from the store and was stopped by security, according to the report. After it was given back, the youth reportedly fled from the store.

5:58 pm.: Kohl’s loss prevention reported a male and female shoplifter had just fled the parking lot on Lexington Street in a silver vehicle, turning right onto Mall Road.

7:05 p.m.: Tycois Security reported a backdoor burglar alarm at T-Mobile on Middlesex Turnpike. The building was reportedly checked and secured.

8:06 p.m.: A caller reported that someone illegally dumped leaf clippings on his property on Algonquin Drive on July 23 and requested the incident be logged.

9:26 p.m.: A caller reported his windshield was struck by an unknown object at the intersection of Lexington Street and McGinnis Drive and believed youths in a passing car may have done it. The vehicle reportedly went toward Simonds Park.

10:04 p.m.: A caller on Overlook Avenue reported a solar solicitor sign his name on a contract.

10:13 p.m.: A caller at St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church on Bedford Street reported a youth in a green vehicle being disrespectful to him. The caller reportedly requested extra checks of the church and the incided to be logged.

11:20 p.m.: A caller reported a drum sound coming from the area of the playground at Lord Baron Apartments on Baron Park Lane. A vehicle was reportedly parked on the grass in the area and turned the music down.

Monday, July 27

12:29 a.m.: A manager reported a fight between six or seven males in the parking lot of Tavern in the Square on Executive Park.

1:04 a.m.: A burglar alarm was reported at Winn Street Laundry Center on Winn Street. The building checked OK, according the report.

6:09 a.m.: A basement motion alarm was reported on Shamrock Drive. All window and doors reportedly checked secure.

8:46 a.m.: A caller reported a loose small brown dog at the intersection of Winn Street and Center Street. The dog was reportedly gone on arrival.

10:38 a.m.: A caller reported an item was stolen from her workplace at Avid Technology Inc. on Network Drive.

11:35 a.m.: A caller reported someone was continually calling her work phone at Potbelly Sandwich Shop on Wayside and attempting to cause her to lose her position.

12:05 p.m.: A male party reported a motor vehicle drove past him on Hickory Lane yelling threats to him. The party reported a white van turned around at the end of the dead end street and the suspect said to the resident, “What the [obscenity] are you looking at?” The suspect reportedly left the area and the resident was advised to call the police if the suspect returned.

1:51 p.m.: A walk in party reported ongoing issues with neighbors on Mulberry Lane regarding trash and liquor bottles.

3:43 p.m.: A caller reported his home on Lido Avenue was spray painted while he was away for the weekend.

4:28 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious male in the area of Gidley Street with a white dog.

4:38 p.m.: A caller reported a dog was in a vehicle with the windows up at Old Navy on Middlesex Turnpike. The dog was reportedly not in distress.

4:54 p.m.: A walk in party reported someone had been leaving notes on people’s cars at Burlington Mall on Middlesex Turnpike saying the party had struck their car and to call her and she would pay for the damage.

11:42 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious white motor vehicle driving the area of St. Margaret’s Parish on Winn Street. The female operator was reportedly learning to drive in the parking lot.
