CLARKS SUMMIT — Purple balloons will dot the downtown business district Thursday evening, Aug. 13, alerting shoppers to participating businesses in the Clarks Summit Shop Around, benefiting St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton.
During the event, which will run from 5 to 8 p.m., attendees can shop at participating retail stores and restaurants, as well as stands from local artisans in the Finish Shop Pocket Park on Depot Street, while at the same time helping St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton.
How it works
Shoppers can purchase items either for themselves, for the St. Joseph’s Center Auxiliary’s upcoming auction, to be held Nov. 13 at the University of Scranton’s DeNaples Center, or both. Then, at the end of the day, 20 percent of the proceeds at each venue will be used to purchase additional items at those shops, to be donated to the auction.
