Air Methods To Buy 200 Bell Helicopters

Air medical operator Air Methods Corp (AIRM) on Wednesday said it has agreed to buy 200 407GXP helicopters from Bell Helicopter, a Textron Inc company (TXT).

Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2016 with a 10 year contract term, which is subject to an early termination right by Air Methods. Air Methods said the helicopters would be configured for Helicopter Emergency Medical Service.

The order marks one of the largest commercial sales in Bell Helicopter's history and also one of the largest in the industry's history.
