If you want to get up close to next week’s UFC Fight Night 83 fighters, you have ample opportunity.
Fans are invited to next week’s open workouts and official fighter weigh-ins in Pittsburgh.
UFC Fight Night 83 takes place Sunday, Feb. 21, at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. The card airs on FOX Sports 1 following four early prelims on UFC Fight Pass. The event is the UFC’s first in Pittsburgh since June 2011 and features a modern-era record 14 fights.
Next Friday’s open workouts take place at Stout Training Pittsburgh on the third floor at 1600 Smallman Street. Doors open to the public at 11:30 a.m. ET (local time). Scheduled to attend are welterweight headliners Donald Cerrone (28-7 MMA, 15-4 UFC), who’s currently No. 7 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings and Alex Oliveira (14-2-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC); co-main middleweights Derek Brunson (14-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) and Roan Carneiro (20-9 MMA, 3-3 UFC); and up-and-coming bantamweight Cody Garbrandt (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC).
The fighter workouts start at noon ET and will run in 30-minute increments starting with Oliveira and followed by Brunson, Garbrandt, Carneiro and Cerrone.
Friday’s weigh-ins take place at Stage AE at 400 North Shore Drive next to Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and kick off at 4 p.m. ET. Doors open to the public at 3 p.m.
