THE HARTFORD Honors the September 11th National Day of Service at Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford
Hartford, CT (October 1, 2015) – Employees from The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. volunteered at the Joseph D. Lapenta Northwest Unit of Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford for September 11th National Day of Service. Volunteers spent the day creating a garden in honor of Joseph D. Lapenta’s legacy and devotion to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford for over fifty years. The Hartford landscaped the Club property and added a white picket fence, a bench and fall flowers.
The September 11th National Day of Service is America’s largest annual day of charitable engagement. The goal is to provide a positive way for all people to forever remember and pay tribute to the victims of September 11th, to honor those that rose in service in response to the attacks and to remind everyone of the importance of working more closely together in peace to improve our world.
To help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford achieve our mission to inspire and enable Hartford’s youth to reach their full potential, consider spending your National Day of Service with us next year.
