Naked Baristas: Coffee-Mate Sets Up Shop Where Everything Is On Display

Trending News: How Would You React If Everyone In The Coffee Shop Was Naked?

Why Is This Important?

Because nothing sells coffee creamer better than full frontal nudity — right??

Long Story Short

To generate hype for their new Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss product, Nestle set up a pop-up coffee shop entirely filled with nude baristas (covered in a thin layer of body paint).

Long Story

For its new Coffee-Mate Natural Bliss all-digital ad campaign, Nestle decided to go seriously au natural.

The mega brand took over an Irving Farm Coffee Roasters back in April and filled it with naked baristas (save for some body paint artfully designed to look like clothing). For added effect, they even placed a few naked customers around the shop.

Execs from Nestle and its ad agency 360i watched from the basement of the coffee shop via video cameras as customers came in and were surprised to be met with full-frontal nudity — as well as free coffee.

Hilariously, Pierre Lipton, chief creative officer at 360i told Adweek that the native New Yorkers were less surprised about the naked people and more surprised about the free coffee. I guess if you've lived in New York long enough, you've seen just about everything.

Nestle and 360i were able to get away with the stunt because, according to Adweek, body paint as clothing remains a legal grey area in New York.

The "performance" was taped and cut down into a 30-second videos that will be pushed on YouTube, Facebook and other online channels.

A teaser of the video was released online today, however:
The whole thing looks like it was a lot fun. I'm just trying not to imagine the type of responses the female baristas got when they asked guys "would you like milk in that?"
