IsramWorld CEO A. Ady Gelber Dies
by Daniel McCarthy /The long-time CEO and owner of The IsramWorld Portfolio of Brands, A. Ady Gelber, passed away over the weekend. He was 76 years old.
Gelber was born in Romania in 1937. After surviving the Holocaust, he and his family moved to Israel, where he began his career in travel. He got his start with El Al, Israel’s flag carrier, and Alitalia, and eventually came to New York as president of Isram Travel, a position he held for more than four decades.
Under his leadership, IsramWorld was transformed from a one-country operation to a mega-tour operator, sending tens of thousands of America travelers to 60 countries each year.
"The entire IsramWorld team of employees on four continents mourns Ady's departure from us, and we will continue to strive and expand in his memory. There can be no greater testimony to Ady's ongoing vision and legacy,” said Richard Krieger, president of The IsramWorld Portfolio of Brand.
