Aon Q2 Profit Declines

Aon plc (AON) Friday announced a sharp decline in second quarter net income to $178 million or $0.62 per share from $304 million or $1.01 per share last year.

On average, 24 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $1.29 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items

Total revenue for the quarter declined 4 percent to $2.805 billion from $2.919 billion a year ago. Wall Street was looking for $2.95 billion.
