In early trading on Tuesday, shares of Seagate Technology (STX) topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 3.3%. Year to date, Seagate Technology has lost about 46.0% of its value.
And the worst performing Nasdaq 100 component thus far on the day is Alexion Pharmaceuticals (ALXN), trading down 2.4%. Alexion Pharmaceuticals is lower by about 26.0% looking at the year to date performance.
Two other components making moves today are Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX), trading down 2.1%, and Stericycle (SRCL), trading up 3.3% on the day.
