More Than Two Dozen Remain Without Power Sunday Morning

A handful of people were still without power in Westford as of late Saturday night.

WESTFORD, MA -

UPDATE, Sunday, Feb. 7 at 8:30 a.m. - More than two dozen customers remain without power in Westford, more than 48 hours since a winter storm struck the area.

According to the National Grid outage map, 31 customers were without power as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The estimate to restore power is noon.

UPDATE, Saturday, Feb. 6 at 11 p.m. - While the number of power outages in Westford has continued to dwindle, the timeline to fully restore all customers has lengthened.

As of 11 p.m. Saturday, 31 customers were still without power in town, according to the National Grid outage map. The new estimate for fully restoring power in the town is noon on Sunday, Feb. 7.

UPDATE, Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. - A handful of Westford National Grid customers remain without power and it could be Sunday before they’re back in the warmth and light.

According to Natonal Grid’s outage map, 371 Westford customers remain without power, and the current restoration estimate is 6 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7.

Police have noted that Tadmuck Road has reopened after being closed for a time due to downed trees and wires.

UPDATE, Friday, Feb. 5 at 11 p.m. - National Grid reported that 501 customers remained without power as of 11 p.m. Friday.

That number has increased slightly throughout the evening. Those remaining without power will likely have to wait quite some time for restoration; National Grid is estimating full restoration for the town by 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6.

A number of roads were closed Friday due to downed trees or wires, including Keyes Road and Tadmuck Road.

The Westford Police Department is reporting a couple of roads that are closed in town as of 4 p.m.

  • Keyes Road at Gould Road is closed
  • Keyes Road at Tenney Road is closed due to a low hanging wire in the roadway.

Additionally, National Grid is reporting that 461 customers were without power as of 4:15 p.m. The National Grid outage map, however, has been intermittently unavailable and includes a note that the numbers might not be accurate.
