Macys.com will move a team of website workers in mid-September onto the 12th floor of the U.S. Bank Plaza tower in downtown Boise.

The website arm of Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s opened a facility called a test automation center in Eagle in 2012 and has grown to 30 employees. This team is focused on improving and enhancing all the digital platforms for the Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s websites, mobile Web and mobile apps, company officials said.

The 7.569 square feet – or half the floor – that macys.com leased at U.S. Bank Plaza will allow the company to expand to 60 software development-related jobs, said Mike Robinson, executive vice president of digital technology, customer experience and site merchandising at macys.com.

Macys.com, launched in 1996, has offices in San Francisco, New York and Boise. Robinson said macys.com was attracted to the Treasure Valley by the workforce.

“Downtown Boise gives us access to technical talent from around the Boise area – and allows us to build and expand an office that is central to the area,” Robinson said.
