UPS Buys Land In Shrewsbury, Grafton For Distribution Center

The new center could add up to 1,500 jobs.

SHREWSBURY, MA—The United Parcel Service bought more than 200 acres in Shrewsbury and Grafton for $18.3 million for a new distribution center, according to reports.

UPS is planning to build an 800,000-square-foot facility on several parcels of land at the Shrewsbury-Grafton line from two different companies, reports the Worcester Business Journal.

An attorney representing UPS told the Grafton Board of Selectmen that the company is investing $280 million to bring as many as 1,500 jobs to the new distribution center. Town Administrator for Grafton Timothy McInerney told the Worcester Business Journal that the town has wanted the land, which is near the commuter rail station, to be developed for quite some time.
