Regions Financial Corp. Q3 Earnings Fall 19%

Regions Financial Corp. (RF) released a profit for third quarter that retreated from last year.

The company said its profit declined to $242 million, or $0.18 per share. This was down from $300 million, or $0.22 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.20 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 1.5% to $1.34 billion. This was up from $1.32 billion last year.
