New London — Crystal Avenue between Lewis and Adelaid streets was closed for a couple of hours late Tuesday afternoon due to low-hanging utility wires.

Police and fire department crews were on the scene redirecting traffic away from the area, which is under the Gold Star Bridge.

Mitch Gross, spokesman for Eversource Energy, said no customers were without power because of the downed wires.

The road reopened about 6 p.m., after crews from the company repaired the wire.
