On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 2-5 p.m., GAME-U of Flemington will be hosting its Fall Open House, open to the public. See the studio, meet the instructional team, participate in mini-workshops in Game Design, Robotics, Electronics, 3d Printing, and try out our Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headsets.
GAME-U is an after-school program on Main Street in Flemington where kids of all ages come to learn how to design and build their own video games, robots, electronics and more. Students learn coding, 3d modeling, animation, illustration, problem-solving and many more pertinent life skills, all in a fun, social environment.
The youngest students, called "Adventurers" start at age 6 and can join classes in game design, drawing, Robotics, Tinker Lab, toy design and jewelry design.
Students ages 8-10, can join the "Explorers" program, which offers game design, Minecraft Modding Jr., Robotics, Battle Bots, toy design and jewelry design.
Students ages 10-12, join the "Pioneers" program, which offers game design, Minecraft Modding, Robotics, Battle Bots, Maker Lab, Drone Builders, and more
The "Apprentice" program, for ages 12 and up, puts students on the pathway to a career in games development, software development or robotics, as they learn the same tools and techniques that the Pros use. With classes in game design, coding, 3d modeling, animation, Arduino Robotics, and the ability to join one of our GameWERX teams (where students join as teams to design, build and publish real games), students are sure to find their passion.
For college-bound students: Our top notch instructional team, with experience working in some of the biggest companies in games development such as LucasArts, Electronic Arts, Activision, Sony and more, has already helped many students prepare for and gain acceptance to game development programs at the college of their choice.
