Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had a personal tour around South Bend from Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

Facebook users had the chance to listen to their conversation on Facebook Live.

As Buttigieg pointed out local landmarks on their drive, they chatted about everything from Buttigieg's decision to run for mayor to current issues in South Bend, like business development and opioid addiction.

Zuckerberg explained that he's here as part of a year-long project to see different corners of America.

"I've been going around to different states for my personal challenge for the year, to see how different communities are working across the country," said Zuckerberg. "To see how different communities are working across the country, seeing how people are living and thinking about their work, and their hopes and challenges."

Zuckerberg and Buttigieg stopped by The Local Cup for some coffee and took a look inside the former Studebaker building just south of downtown that's finding a new life in the tech industry.
