Stage Stores Inc. (SSI) Plummeted To A New Low After Guidance Slashed

Stage Stores Inc. (SSI) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.22 Thursday morning, which fell short of the consensus estimate of $0.34. The company also lowered its full year adjusted EPS forecast to between $1.05 and $1.15, from prior expectations of $1.20 to $1.28. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $1.23.

Stage Stores gapped open sharply lower Thursday and fell during the first half hour of trade, before settling into a range. The stock closed down by 4.95 at $11.95 on the highest volume of the year. Stage Stores plummeted to a new low for the year.
